The first visit

Braska and I went to the house last night to check things out. Not sure what I thought I'd find but an empty house (and it was dirty...what's that about? Clean your house when you sell it, people!! We left ours spotless!), and that we did. But there was a big dumpster in the driveway. That's for the demo that starts today. Pics of that when it gets underway.

There's work to be done cosmetically for sure. We'll get to some sooner, some can wait. This is the border in Braska's room. Pandas are her theme anyway, so it works. The blue is not what I would choose (not that I would ever choose any border either) but we're gonna leave it for now.


This is the border in Pepino's room. Noah's ark is always good, but the green is a bit much for me. But again, it'll stay for now. Looks like Pepino's got a theme picked out for him/her already.


There's alot of wallpaper in the bath and the kitchen, along with ALOT of oak (have I mentioned that I'm not an oak fan??) so we'll deal with some of it down the road. Right now, the goal is to get the demo/construction done, carpets cleaned after that, move in and settling. Cosmetic has to wait this time...

Heading over there in a couple hours to let the demo team in. Should be interesting...

    have fun making the house your own...even if some of the changes need to wait...and what's with all the wallpaper? I didn't think people did wallpaper anymore...

    Ah yes, wallpaper. It stinks. Our house we bought a few months ago is full of it. Now, my MIL? She loves it. But she picks out decent motifs. It actually works in her house. Needless to say, we're going to be borrowing a steamer to get that stuff off the walls soon.
    As for a dirty house: I HATE THAT! Our house was FILTHY when we moved in. Argh, that irks me. Sorry you're having to deal with that, too.

    The first house we bought was a mess! They left all kinds of trash for us and a pair of longhorns on the livingroom wall! Not our style at all. It was a real eye opener. I always cleaned my houses and they looked better for the buyer than when we lived there!

Multi-mothering

Last week, Jen , Mark, and Sophie came to town for Sophie's ear tube placement at SLCH . We met up after the procedure at the Galleria so Jen could snag some shoes for Sophie (not that she was able to get what she wanted, unfortunately, but the Robeez Sophie got were super cute!). The double stroller we have is very good, it maneuvers very smoothly and opens and folds up really easily. Since it's so easy to deal with, I thought I'd add another task or two to the situation... Most of you know that you can click on the pictures in any post and they'll open up bigger. But in case you can't see clearly enough... Is there a law against driving a double stroller with one hand while holding a newborn with the other while holding the bottle with my chin?? (No, but there should be a law against that double chin that is created with this position!)

BabyLegs Giveaway

That's right! A BabyLegs Giveaway!! BUT...this giveway has an extra dose of generosity required for the participants. Can you handle it? BabyLegs has been so great to us, and they have surprised me once again! It all started back when the superb Tricia and Little Miss G sent Braska a pair many moons ago.
