I’m a tad on the almost-late side since I waited to the end of Easter to post this… what else is new?!? But Amy was SO nice as to tag me for this cool thing! My good buddy Courtney tagged me for an interesting assignment ... make sure you click over to see her response. That girl is crazy clever... I tell ya. The idea is to take a picture of yourself right now, no touch ups, no primping, no changing clothes, and post it before you can change your mind. I was a bit hesitant as, let's be honest since we're being REAL, my girls and I are still in PJs and it's almost 1pm. That's just the way it goes some days, and we don't have a car to get out anyway (loaned it to one of my BFFs Jen --she tells the story better than me.) so why make more clothes to throw in the laundry, that's what I say. But when I held up the camera after seeing the post with my assignment on it, this is what I got. Whoda thunk it?!? It may be one of my favorites in a while! Not only am I not hardly visible (always helpful!) but Braska's giving me a sweet smile and Kinlee's NOT fussing (SO rare these days). So in the end...thanks Courtney! ...

This week I've received tags for an award from two blog friends and for a meme from another. I can't tell you how fun it is for me to see my name on those lists when I'm reading all your blogs. I always have to run in to tell M, "I got picked!" as he rolls his eyes at me. First the award... honestly, I don't know what it means literally, but it says that it has to do with "creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language." The one that means the most to me is the "contributes to the blogging community," because that's my hope. I want to be a positive spot, fun and light, yet real and honest, and, of course, a great advocate for our wonderful Down syndrome poonchins. (That's a term of endearment in our fam.) A little while back, my friend Amy at Larkin's Place tagged me for 5 interesting things about myself. This is obviously difficult, which you know if you read about how lame I am . But here's a go at a few more items. 1. I kind of think I'd like to be a photographer if I just all the sudden woke up in a different profession. Not like landscapes as much as people, families, babies...like that. 2. In 2006 from January to December I lost 60 pounds. I also was pregnant from March to November of that year. (20 lbs lost Jan-Mar, 13 lbs lost then gained back during pregnancy, and 40 lbs lost from Braska's birth on 11/21/06 to end of the year.) Amazing what stress can do. 3. In 2007 I gained 25 pounds. Amazing what stress can do. 4. I grew up a huge sports fan. Basketball especially, as my brother played and we all liked to watch high school, college, and NBA. 5. I married a man who hates basketball, especially the "shoe squeaking" that goes along with it. So ...

Ok, here's the next batch of "things about me" per the tag from Mrs. Wibbs. I know you've all been waiting with bated breath . 1. I love Mexican food. But then again you know that if you read Braska's blog . Enchiladas, chicken fajitas, guacamole, GOOD salsa....I never get tired of it. Long live El Toro!! 2. If I have the choice between emailing someone and calling them, I'll almost always email. But my problem is that I assume that everyone is on their computers 18 hours a day like I am. And I don't understand why I don't have a response in 15 minutes! 3. I am not a fan of shopping....not for groceries or for clothes. I used to enjoy both somewhat, but now it is a hassle. I put off trips to the store for food way too often. And clothes....grrrr. That's all I have to say about that. 4. It is not unusual for me to go 3 or 4 days without leaving the house or even getting dressed. I'm great at getting out of the shower and just putting on the nex...
