Scrappin’ Good Times

Here’s the view from my perspective right now.

Julie and I are at a scrapping event put on by the Pujols Family Foundation for moms of kids with DS.  They provided lunch, they gave everyone TONS of stuff (albums, papers, stickers, more papers, more embellishments, and on and on…), and we got some stuff done.  I’ve been working on backgrounds, both the free kind for whoever and those that are commissioned by people for a specific purpose.

I was the only one sitting behind a laptop, doing the digital version of the “real thing.”  They had little mini classes about stamping and scrapping and even digital scrapbooking.  A great event overall, and I’ve been out of the house for almost 5 hours! Woo hoo!

What did you do today?

  1. Awesome, if I had 5 hours to scrapbook I probably wouldn't be so far behind! Sounds like a really cool day.

    What did I do today??
I went to a baby shower this morning -- 45 minutes from our house. I left home at 10a, left before it was all over, and got home at 3:30p. Then Ju & I left at 5p to go 45 minutes in another direction to see some of her friend perform in "Pride & Prejudice". It was superb. We just got home at 11p. Busy day.

31 for 21: What to say

I have encountered plenty of people who ask "How old is she?" when Braska and I are out together here and there. They always guess her age about 5 months younger than she is, but that's ok, since that's what size she is. I have said several times that I can imagine it will bother me a bit more, although still not a huge deal, when she turns one next month and I see their reaction to that, as she still is in her car seat/carrier when we're in a restaurant or in a store since she doesn't sit up. Today, I met some friends for brunch. The waitress was a nice enough, very young girl, and she started cooing at Braska right away. That's nice. I don't mind, Braska likes the attention, and I'm proud of my cutie. The waitress asked her age, and I told her 11 months. She then said, "But she's not walking yet?" as she noticed that she was up to the table in her car seat/carrier. I just agreed and said, "Not yet." She said she h

Oh happy day, Less question mark!

As a follow up to yesterday's post, I got word today that we will NOT be assigned to the new guy, but we will have an experienced coordinator after all. I feel SO much better. I also learned some other info today that made me think I still have some kinks to work out, so I'll be taking care of that this next week. I'll be SO glad when this transition/IEP stuff is behind us. I want to do the very best I can, but there's part of me who wants to just hide and let it all happen without me.

BabyLegs Giveaway

That's right! A BabyLegs Giveaway!! BUT...this giveway has an extra dose of generosity required for the participants. Can you handle it? BabyLegs has been so great to us, and they have surprised me once again! It all started back when the superb Tricia and Little Miss G sent Braska a pair many moons ago. We'd seen them on a few of our little blog friends, and I thought they were adorable. And the idea of keeping Braska warm while being able to access her g-tube without having to undress her was very appealing. So when we received our surprise pair from our friends out East, we were just plain giddy! I quickly ordered several more pairs to go with her wardrobe. It didn't take anytime at all for BabyLegs to become my standard gift at baby showers, and I especially loved sending them to moms that I found who had fresh little new babies with DS. They're perfect for everyday with a long-sleeved onesie, they are great under a little dress, and they are so helpful with thera
