1 doc 2 visits 2 days

This morning we took KiKi to the pediatrician due to a very icky and inflamed rash that came up. Seeing her twice in two days is just ridiculous. I have barely seen her that much in the last 6 months!

It was like this, though I know it’s hard to see, but it was all over her back, front, neck, some on the arms, down into her diaper, but not on her legs. It actually got worse by the time we got to the doctor…nice, since it usually goes away before they can see it.  Hence, taking a picture before we left.

Diagnosis: Hives, deep cough, not strep. Treatment: Benadryl and wait. We don't know what caused it.

Braska's a little better, but still not good. I've got no voice at all today, as the receptionist at the dr office can attest to, and my throat feels like it's quite swollen. M's home from work today also because he's been dizzy for 5+ days now, vertigo, but we don't know why.

And I'm hungry, but oh well. The girls are asleep, so napping beats out eating. Wow. I am making progress!

  1. Wow, when you guys go down you go down. No good. I have also had the dizziness for several days but no other symptoms. Can't figure that one out. I had about decided I'd better go get my eyes checked as I've had these glasses for 4 years. But at least I don't have strep, a virus, hives, and no voice.

Get a cup of good hot chocolate, put on your comfy clothes, and settle in with some non-rushed time to check out Dan Drinker's site . I can't even tell you how much I love watching these videos and reading what his family has written about him. I feel like I want to tune into the Dan Drinker 24-hour channel or something. Dan is a young man with DS who is living and loving life, and his younger brother Will captures much of it on video. It's priceless, in my opinion. I just love it. Check out the blog, watch some videos, tell them that you've been there. I wish this guy lived near me! The most recent post, about Breaking Up with Christine , is funny and poignant. Here's a couple of my other favorite videos so far... I've still got more to watch! His 7th Prom A Basketball Date with Sarah

Can I get a do-over?

If you are in need of a laugh at another's expense, I invite you to read on... really, it's totally ok. I can take it. This might end up long, but I wanna remember this special day. Oh so special... Today is my first day to have both girls and be on my own. Yeah, it's been two weeks, but I'm apparently slow at learning how to deal with this kind of thing. I knew it would be a challenge, but I thought with starting way early, we could make it. The quick ending is that we did make it...but that's not really the whole story. Kinlee's been sleeping til about 9 am or so after getting up twice in the night. That's ok, I'm dealing with it. But since Braska is supposed to be at school at 10 am on Mondays, I thought I better not sleep in like I prefer, and instead, I should get up and get things moving earlier to be sure we're on time. Not a problem, since Braska decided to be up twice last night in addition to Kinlee's two times. One time overlapped...so...
