One room

I had two days to work, and I sure as heck did. But all that time, and I really only got one room done! It was my office, though, and it was SO overpiled and trashed. So I feel good that it's done and I hope I can keep better track of my filing and organizing so that 2-years-behind thing never happens again.

Some pics... if you've been around long, you know I am a fan of the before-and-after pics.

Here's what it looked like when I started. I'm so shocked that I'm even posting these....it's horrendous! BTW...these were taken on my phone, M and Braska had taken off with the camera by the time I remembered I needed a "before." They're not the best quality pics.

And at it's current stage... no, my walls aren't peach, but the light in there makes things look yellowish.
There is still plenty to do, things from the other two rooms that used to be the office pre-kid that need to be moved in here. Final filing order, and of course, taxes! But at least now I can get in there and actually utilize the work space. And if you come to visit, you'll have a bed to sleep in.

For the record, I did get a few other things done. I finished the office at about 1:30p on Sunday, then worked on my living room, the kitchen, and minimally on our bedroom before I had to dash to the store before the Super Bowl party at 3:45p. There's at least another weekend's worth of work to do, but for now, I'll just try to keep up with the daily stuff.

Little factoid....when the office was done, I had almost 2 complete 30-gal bags of trash, mostly paper. Amazing!

  3. Fantastic improvement! Thanks for the before and after. And if you sell the paper to recycling place (?) you could eat out at El Toro!

  4. And did you recycle the paper or just throw it out?

  5. Karen--Thanks...I should have shown you in person Sunday night.

Grandma C--Thanks...at least there's a place to walk in and the desk can be used.

Dad--I do love the before and after.

Anon--Most of this stuff is medically sensitive patient info, so we burn it in our fireplace as starter.

Streamlining the Blogs

I know it's been forever, and yes, Facebook is much to blame.  For as long as I held out and didn't join, now I see it's simplicity (and it's ability to suck up all my online time!!). BUT--After much pondering, I've decided I'm not giving up on blogging! Sometimes a narrative or story will be better served in a blog format, so I'm combining blogs into one.   Intentional Family  is our new all-in-one blog for the goings on of our family, Braska's progress, celebrations, and challenges, as well as the amazing rise of little sister Kinlee. Other places you could check out if you so choose would be our new business  Larae Photography LLC on Facebook  or on the web at  www.Larae-Photo.com , or the page for my hobbies-gone-busy  Just RK Designs . So if there ARE any blog readers still out there, please come on over to the new place and join up for the ride.  All the old posts from the 3 previous blogs will be there soon so you can catch up if you ...

New Fave-o Site

Get a cup of good hot chocolate, put on your comfy clothes, and settle in with some non-rushed time to check out Dan Drinker's site . I can't even tell you how much I love watching these videos and reading what his family has written about him. I feel like I want to tune into the Dan Drinker 24-hour channel or something. Dan is a young man with DS who is living and loving life, and his younger brother Will captures much of it on video. It's priceless, in my opinion. I just love it. Check out the blog, watch some videos, tell them that you've been there. I wish this guy lived near me! The most recent post, about Breaking Up with Christine , is funny and poignant. Here's a couple of my other favorite videos so far... I've still got more to watch! His 7th Prom A Basketball Date with Sarah
