Day one

rkface010113I want to do something cool this year. I want to gain lots of new followers and make people smile and go, “Hey, I wish I’d written that!”  I want to remember things because I documented them and wrote about them here. I want to have great discussions via all the wonderful comments I receive and respond to.

Wouldn’t that be great?

I am overwhelmed right now with more tasks than there are hours in the day. More than I’ve ever experienced in my almost 40 years.  Life has spun to a new level of busy and hurried.  Things aren’t necessarily bad, just far more daily commitments than I’d prefer.  Some are by choice. Some are just life.  Combined, I’m just plain exhausted. All areas are suffering… my health, home, relationships, and sanity.  Today I took a first step toward some small bit of improvement.  One day at a time.

I will try, though. I will try to post more. I will try to stay connected.

New Fave-o Site

Get a cup of good hot chocolate, put on your comfy clothes, and settle in with some non-rushed time to check out Dan Drinker's site . I can't even tell you how much I love watching these videos and reading what his family has written about him. I feel like I want to tune into the Dan Drinker 24-hour channel or something. Dan is a young man with DS who is living and loving life, and his younger brother Will captures much of it on video. It's priceless, in my opinion. I just love it. Check out the blog, watch some videos, tell them that you've been there. I wish this guy lived near me! The most recent post, about Breaking Up with Christine , is funny and poignant. Here's a couple of my other favorite videos so far... I've still got more to watch! His 7th Prom A Basketball Date with Sarah

Can I get a do-over?

If you are in need of a laugh at another's expense, I invite you to read on... really, it's totally ok. I can take it. This might end up long, but I wanna remember this special day. Oh so special... Today is my first day to have both girls and be on my own. Yeah, it's been two weeks, but I'm apparently slow at learning how to deal with this kind of thing. I knew it would be a challenge, but I thought with starting way early, we could make it. The quick ending is that we did make it...but that's not really the whole story. Kinlee's been sleeping til about 9 am or so after getting up twice in the night. That's ok, I'm dealing with it. But since Braska is supposed to be at school at 10 am on Mondays, I thought I better not sleep in like I prefer, and instead, I should get up and get things moving earlier to be sure we're on time. Not a problem, since Braska decided to be up twice last night in addition to Kinlee's two times. One time overlapped...so...
